Lillian M. Grabowsky
March 13, 1946 – August 10, 2022
Lillian Marie Grabowsky, 76, of Menominee, MI, passed away on Wednesday, August 10, 2022 at Rennes Health and Rehab Center, West in Peshtigo, WI. Lillian Marie Inman was born on March 13, 1946 in Menominee, MI to Harvey and Sophie (Slawinski) Inman. Lillian worked as a special education teacher for the Engadine Public School district for many years. She was an avid Milwaukee Brewer fan and enjoyed collecting bells and clowns. Lillian was a member of Resurrection Catholic Church
Survivors include her sister: Christie (Bob) Uecke of Menominee, MI; ex husband: Lee N. Grabowsky of Menominee, MI; sister in law: Kathie Inman; 2 sons: Lee (Jill) Grabowsky of Menominee, MI and Mark Grabowsky of Green Bay, WI; 8 grandchildren: Jami, Steve, Amanda, Brandon, Mark, Skyler, Elijah and Nala; many great grandchildren; nephew: Troy; and niece: Tracey.
Lillian was preceded in death by her parents: Harvey and Sophie; brother: Harvey “Rick” Inman; sister in law: Helen Inman; grandson: Bradlee; niece: Judi; and nephews: Jeff, Todd and CJ.
Visitation for Lillian will be held at Cadieu Funeral Home on Sunday, August 28, 2022 from 2:00 pm until time of Prayer Service at 4:00 pm with Father Brian Gerber presiding. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery with her parents Harvey and Sophie Inman.
Lillian’s family would like to thank nurse Toni and the rest of the caring staff at Rennes West, Jenny and the rest of the staff at Bridgeview and lastly Davita Dialysis for the wonderful care given to Lillian.
Shirley V. Madden
March 22, 1930 – August 14, 2022
Shirley V. Madden, age 92, of Gladstone, passed away peacefully, surrounded by loved ones, on Sunday, August 14, 2022 at the Schoolcraft Medical Care Facility in Manistique.
Shirley was born March 22, 1930 in Trout Creek, Michigan, the daughter of August and Hilda (Tuominen) Besonen. She was raised in Trout Creek and graduated from Trout Creek High School in 1948. She was united in marriage to Robert Madden on September 15, 1951 in Trout Creek. Bob and Shirley lived in Detroit where Shirley worked at Hudsons and Bell Telephone. Robert joined the State Police in 1954, which resulted in the couple making homes in Houghton Lake, Newberry and finally in Gladstone. Creating fond memories in each location.
Shirley was a member of All Saints Catholic Church in Gladstone and enjoyed spending time with her family and was a good friend to many.
Shirley will be sorely missed by her children, Kathy (John) Perkins, Lynne (Joe) Rahilly, Terese (Darrell) Schumer, Bob (Brenda) Madden, Patrick (Theresa) Madden and Joe (Stephanie) Madden, 19 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Robert, her six siblings and many dear friends.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, August 18 from 10:00 to 11:30 AM at the Skradski Funeral Home in Gladstone. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 12:00 PM at All Saints Catholic Church with Fr. Brandon Yanni officiating. A luncheon will follow in the parish hall. Shirley will be laid to rest in the Gardens of Rest Cemetery in Wells.

Valerie S. Robinson
March 18, 1949 – August 12, 2022
Pastor Valerie Sue Robinson, 73, died from cancer on Friday, August 12, 2022, at Upper Peninsula Health Systems – Marquette. Pastor Valerie’s family was with her. Valerie, having committed her life to Jesus, died assured of her eternal heavenly destination. At the time of her death Valerie served as Pastor for the Hulbert and Paradise Methodist churches.
Valerie graduated from Newberry High School in 1967. Valerie completed training as a diploma graduate (RN) from the Greenville (SC) Hospital School of Nursing in 1970. Valerie obtained a BSN at the University of Michigan.
Valerie was born in Providence, Rhode Island on March 18, 1949, to Edwin and Ethel Farnell. Valerie is survived by her husband, James of 51 years and her children Sara Robinson, Erin (Jacob) Fetzer, Susan (Nick) Johnston, Martin (Lauryn) Robinson and Christina (Frank) Magyar. Additionally, Valerie is survived by sibling Edwin Farnell, Leigh Anne Farnell, and Warren Farnell. Valerie took joy in her 9 grandchildren, nieces and nephew.
Valerie served in a variety of health care setting including the University of Michigan Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (Holden), Helen Newberry Joy Hospital, school nurse for Tahquamenon Area Schools and Northwoods Home Health and Hospice. Valerie served most recently as Parish Nurse.
Valerie lived with a keen eye for the needs of others and a heart to meet those needs. Valerie’s lived with a passion to serve God and other.
Funeral Services will be Friday August 19, 2022 at the Newberry United Methodist Church at 10:00 AM with Pastors Jackie Roe and Jim Duflo officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Home Cemetery. A fellowship lunch will be served at the church at Noon.
