Barbara Irene Beadle
March 16, 1928 – October 24, 2022
Longtime Newberry resident, Barbara Irene Beadle, 94, died Monday afternoon October 24, 2022.
Born March 16, 1928 in Lapeer, daughter of the late Claude and LaRena (Castle) Fitch, Barb was a 1946 graduate of Ortonville High School.
On December 7, 1946, Barb married Rex Beadle and moved to Newberry in 1957. Barb was a devoted homemaker raising her family. She enjoyed bowling, golfing, camping, playing bingo, card games, her pet companion cats and going out for dinner.
In addition to her parents, Barb is preceded in death by her husband Rex; daughter Sandy Beadle; siblings Jack (Anne) Kintz and Joy Davis.
Survivors include her daughter Laurie Gordon of Newberry; grandson Harry Gordon III and granddaughter Missy Gordon; great-grandchildren Keiana Fosters, Aven Fosters, Madilynn Gordon and Harry Gordon IV.
Per her request, cremation services were accorded. A gathering of family and friends celebrating the life of Barb will be held Wednesday November 9, 2022 from 12:00 noon to 2:00 pm at the Beaulieu Funeral Home in Newberry. Interment will follow at Forest Home Cemetery.

Russell Joseph Mark
August 9, 1934 – October 21, 2022
Lifelong McMillan resident, Russell Joseph Mark, 88, died peacefully Friday morning October 21, 2022 at Newberry Assisted Living Community following a brief illness. Russ was born August 9, 1934 in Newberry, son of the late Russell C. and Pearl (Destraze) Mark.
In 1960, Russ was drafted into the United States Army serving until his honorable discharge on September 30, 1962, attaining the rank of Specialist Fourth Class.
On October 1, 1960, Russ married the love of his life, the former Patricia Hollingshead. They spent the next 62 years together until his death.
During his lifetime, Russ was employed as a truck driver for various companies including Richard Brow & Sons, Pike Distributors, Zellar Bark and Neal’s Truck Parts until his retirement. Russ was a devoted employee and became lifelong friends with many of his employers and their families.
Russ was a member of the McMillan United Methodist Church and the Road Runner Snowmobile Club. His hobbies included gardening, splitting and stacking 20 cord of wood a year for winter, feeding & watching birds, reading; especially about Michigan history and most importantly, spending time with his family.
In addition to his parents, Russ is preceded in death by his daughter, Sheila Mark; siblings Yvonne (Don) Weston, Patricia Borowski, Delores (Bunk) Kirby and Ronald Mark.
Survivors include his loving wife, Patricia, daughter Merry (John) Rintamaki of McMillan; grandchildren Jason (Courtney) Tiglas of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Kelsey Autterson (Jeremy Anderson) of Newberry and Connor Rintamaki of McMillan; great grandchildren Ryan and Griffin Anderson; sister Nancy (Paul) Klein of McMillan; several nieces and nephews.
Russ was a testament of hard work, positivity and larger than life humor. His wit and one-liners will always be remembered. He enjoyed a beer and conversation with family and friends whenever possible. He always had a fire in the wood stove and cooler ready in his garage to welcome anyone that stopped by. He and Pat loved to go for a ride; either to the casino, the Seney Wildlife Refuge, around the Lakefield loop or on a back road north of McMillan. He enjoyed delivering fresh baked goods by Pat to his places of employment. Russ was always available for his family or anyone in need. Russ was a compassionate, gentle soul. He hated to see anyone or any animal in pain. Russ loved his family fiercely and it gave him much peace to know everyone was doing well.
Per request, cremation services were accorded. Funeral services will be held on Friday November 4 at 2:00 pm at the McMillan United Methodist Church in McMillan with Pastor Devin Lawrence officiating. Full military honors conducted by the American Legion Post #74 and the United States Army Honor Guard will conclude the services. A luncheon and gathering of family and friends will follow at the American Legion Warren Room in Newberry.
