Senior basketball players from the Engadine Boys and Girls Varsity Basketball teams will be honored and recognized in a special ceremony between games on Wednesday, February 7. The Engadine Basketball Senior Night ceremony will highlight graduating members from both the boys and girls varsity teams and their individual contributions to the basketball program. The Eagles will be hosting the Mid Pen Wolverines in a varsity doubleheader that evening.
The Engadine Lady Eagles have been playing much improved basketball as of late, recently picking up their first win of the season over Rudyard. The Lady Eagles also fell in the final moments of a close conference game against the Cedarville-Detour Lady Islanders. In their previous meeting earlier this season, Engadine nearly knocked off the Lady Wolverines, falling 39-35 in the season opener.
On the boys side, Coach Joe Brownson and company are still seeking their first win of the season. They, too, came close to earning a win over the Wolverines in their early season matchup. The 44-35 loss was one of the closest games of the year for the Eagles, who are stronger and deeper than the last time the two teams met.
The Varsity doubleheader is currently scheduled to start with one game at 6 p.m. and the other to follow 20 minutes after. Both games and the Senior Night Ceremony will be available on the M-123FM and EUP Sports Network Facebook pages.
