Thomas L. Gendron
July 21, 1948 – March 31, 2024
Lifelong area resident, Thomas Lewis Gendron, 75, died Sunday afternoon March 31, 2024 at Golden Leaves Living Center in Newberry.
Born July 21, 1948 in Newberry, son of the late Franklin and Margaret (Winters) Gendron, Tom was inducted in the United States Army on May 22, 1968 serving during the Vietnam War until his honorable discharge on May 21, 1970, attaining the rank of Specialist Fourth Class and transferred to the United States Army Reserves.
Tom was employed as a deliveryman/salesman for Newberry Bottling Company for 32 years until his retirement. Tom was a former member of the American Legion Post #74, B.P.O.E. #1705 and enjoyed fishing, hunting and spending time as his camp.
In addition to his parents, Tom is preceded in death by his siblings Belinda Loker and Daniel Gendron; brother-in-law Jim Dennis.
Survivors include his loving wife, the former Michelle Alsin of Newberry, whom he married on May 30, 2003; children Thomas Lee Gendron of Newberry, Tammy Lynn (Clint) Taylor of North Carolina and Matthew James Gendron of Newberry; grandchildren Dynah Gendron and MaKayla Wolf; siblings Katherine (Mike) Blackann of Westland, Penny Dennis of Silver Springs, Nevada, Timothy Gendron of Silver Springs, Nevada, Amy (Denny) Reno of Michigan and Samuel Gendron of Silver Springs, Nevada; sister-in-law Gail Gendron of Algonac, Michigan; several nieces and nephews.
Per request, cremation services were accorded with no public services scheduled.

David Dale Fair Sr.
February 19, 1938 – April 7, 2024
Lifelong Newberry resident, David Dale Fair Sr., 86, died Sunday afternoon, April 7, 2024 at his residence in the presence of his loving family and the care of North Wood Home Care and Hospice.
Born February 19, 1938 at Hydes Camp, a lumbering community north of Newberry, he was the son of the late Curtis and Barbara (LaVance) Fair and a graduate of Newberry High School.
In his youth, Dale was employed as a sawyer, a skid operator for the stud mill and later employed as a heavy equipment operator with the Village of Newberry for several years until his retirement in 2000.
Dale enjoyed fishing, hunting, watching NASCAR races and a collector of Dale Earnhardt Sr. memorabilia.
In addition to his parents, Dale is preceded in death by his daughter Cindy Huff in 2022, granddaughter Michelle Selby in 1987, brothers Edward Fair, William Fair and Clifford Fair; brothers-in-law Melvin Keinonen and Elwood Keinonen.
Survivors include his loving wife, the former Alma Keinonen of Newberry, whom he married December 23, 1961 in Newberry; children Becky Mills of Newberry, Prudy (Kurt) Robinson of Newberry, David “Butch” Fair Jr. of Newberry, Ethan Fair of Newberry and Robert (Michele) Fair of Iron Mountain; brother-in-law Delbert (Cricket) Keinonen of McMillan; grandchildren Renee Fair of Manistee, Cheryl Fair of Houghton, Katie (John) Clark of Newberry, Keri (Erik) Carpenter of Traverse City, Alyssa Fair of Newberry, Josh (Alycia) Jensenius of Iron Mountain, Risa (Dan) Fillman of Iron Mountain, Brie Fair of Omaha, Nebraska, Melanie (Jeremy) Middleton of Kinross, Lori Severance of Kinross and Steve Severance of lower Michigan; special nephew Larry Fair of Newberry; 22 great-grandchildren; 7 great-great-grandchildren along with many nieces and nephews.
A gathering of family and friends will take place Thursday, April 18, 2024 from 11:00 am to 12:00 noon at the Beaulieu Funeral Home in Newberry. A Memorial Service celebrating the life of Dale will follow at 12:00 noon at the funeral home with Pastor Melinda VanderSys officiating.
